# UK Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 Course

Comply with the UK Radio Equipment Regulations 2017: scoping, the essential requirements, designated standards, conformity routes, UKCA marking and the UK DoC.

The UK Radio Equipment Regulations 2017 predate Brexit — but the compliance picture around them hasn't stood still since. Great Britain has amended the regulations for standalone operation, built its own designated standards system through DSIT, made CE marking recognition indefinite for most goods, and — critically — chosen not to activate the EU's newer cybersecurity requirements, leaving a real, practical gap that catches manufacturers who assume "UK-compliant" and "EU-compliant" mean the same thing. Northern Ireland, meanwhile, still follows the EU Radio Equipment Directive directly, including a common charger mandate Great Britain has never adopted. This course teaches UK wireless product compliance from first principles to a complete, defensible compliance file: what actually counts as radio equipment, the three essential requirements under regulation 6 and how conditional requirements get activated, how designated standards create a presumption of conformity and how to track them as they change, how to choose the right conformity assessment route, what a real RF, EMC, and safety testing programme covers, how to build a technical documentation file and issue a legally correct full or simplified Declaration of Conformity, UKCA marking rules and exactly when a valid CE mark is recognised instead, the UK Responsible Person role and full supply chain obligations, the genuine GB-EU cybersecurity divergence and the PSTI Act as GB's real answer to it, and Northern Ireland's separate regime under the Windsor Framework including its common charger rules. Every module ends with a knowledge check, and the final module walks a realistic multi-market product through the entire compliance process end to end before turning what you've learned into your own action plan. Common failure patterns drawn from real enforcement categories are covered throughout, not just listed once at the end. Built on Krono's regulatory database — the same data that powers our free roadmap tool for 213 product types across CE/EU, UK, US, and India markets. This course contains the use of artificial intelligence for asthetic purposes.

*   8 downloadable resources included

## What you'll learn

* Choose the right conformity assessment route — Module A, B and C, or H — and work with a UK Approved Body
* Plan and interpret RF, EMC, safety, and RF exposure testing for a real wireless product
* Build a complete technical file and issue a legally correct full or simplified UK Declaration of Conformity
* Apply UKCA marking correctly and know exactly when a valid CE mark is recognised in Great Britain instead
* Handle the GB-EU cybersecurity divergence, the PSTI Act, and Northern Ireland's separate EU-aligned regime

## Requirements

* ·No prior radio equipment or telecoms regulatory knowledge required — the course starts from first principles
* ·Some familiarity with electronics product development or hardware supply chains is helpful but not essential
* ·Compliance managers, hardware engineers, founders, and supply chain teams will all benefit
